Where it's supposed to say giffgaff up in the corner it just says searching as if it was searching when you very first put your sim in I have an iPhone I've tried turning it on and off and also taking the sim in and out but won't work.ive also brought it to tesco mobile shop and they said its to do with giffgaff😐. Does anyone know how I can contact giffgaff please

Tesco sometimes double locked there run on 02 but can lock to tesco

Hi,

Try carrying out a manual roam by following this guide: http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Tips-Guides/Manual-Roam/m-p/3345471#M32502

 

iPhone Settings

 

 

1. Go to settings

2.Go to carriers

3. Switch off automatic and manually change the carrier to something other then O2-UK i.e vodafone or orange

4. Come out of settings and wait until it fails to connect to the other carrier

5. Once it fails repeat the process and this time choose O2-UK

Hi, giffgaff won't work in phones locked to Tesco.

Are you sure your phone is unlocked. If it is
Try going to settings / carrier and enable automatic. If you still have issues. Then try switching your phone off. Connect it to iTunes. And let iTunes switch it on. It should also prompt you to update the carrier settings to giffgaff.

This is an internet-only service, there is no call centre as such.

 

With regard to your issue, begin by checking the giffgaff network status in your area to see if there are any reported problems (mast maintenance etc.).

If the signal is fine, next step is to try manual roaming by following the link to the guide here:

That can help sort out various types of issues!

have you checked your local mast for any issues ?

it's true that tesco-mobile double lock their phones , but I've also seen many threads on giffgaff that iPhones which are locked to tesco-mobile still work with giffgaff

have you dropped your iPhone or had it repaired recently ?

Tesco phones are "double-locked" I think. You may need to go to a phone store to get it unlocked.
