Please check the network & signal status in your
surrounding area to check if your having any disruptions or
outages:

And try manual roaming by following the link below:

Try:

check if there are any problems in your area http://status.o2.co.uk/

a quick restart and/or a reboot of the device can help you get reception on your phone. If these don't help then sometimes you may need to restore the device to factory settings (how it was when you took it out of the box) but then you will need to reinput your internet settings.

Turn On Airplane Mode (if you have this option) And then turn back On after about 20 sec 'or' Take the battery out for 30 seconds and then place it back in and power up (not for Iphone users Etc). Turning the device into airplane/offline mode and back into normal mode can, a lot of the time, get you a bar or two of reception in bad coverage areas but also full reception if it just a temporary network issue

Also try to hand clean the sim very carefully then re-insert it

Try a manual roam, this refreshes your connection to the network which can help with calls, texts and data. Follow the instructions below if you're not sure how to do this

1. Go to settings
2. Then go to mobile networks
3. Select a network other than
O2(gg) i.e orange or tmobile
4. Come out of settings and it
should say no network coverage
or something
5. Repeat the process this time
choose O2(gg) and this will update your number to the message centre
and should help your texts

Also check the message centre number in your message settings should be +447802002606

If the phone is locked to o2 or its unlocked it should work absolutely on it. Test the sim in another phone to see if it's sim or phone issue

"SIM failure" suggests a faulty SIM, or the SIM has not been inserted correctly.

If the wrong SIM was inserted in a locked handset, it would normally say "Invalid SIM" or ask for a Network Unlock Code.

Are you sure your phone is locked to O2, and not some other MVNP that runs on the O2 network (e.g. Tesco Mobile)
