Sim Swap delay

Hi, yesterday I did sim swap around lunch time. No idea why it is taking so long though. Isn't it supposed to be about 30 minutes or so? I have asked an agent to see what they say. Anybody else has to wait for this long?

Sorry to read of your situation this morning. That is correct, a SIM Swap procedure usually takes around a few minutes to 24 hours to complete though the system in full. However, the “norm” is around 30 minutes complete. Please reboot your device after 30 minutes until your SIM card registers on the Giffgaff network again.

 

If you are now beyond 24 hours and SIM Swap has not completed successfully,  you have done the correct in contacting an Agent for assistance.

Please allow 24 hours for an agent to respond to your enquiry. A Giffgaff Agent will reply via your Account Dashboard area and directly in your My Questions area.

The SIM Swap process may take anything from a few minutes to 24 hours to complete though the system in full. However, the “norm” is around 30 minutes complete. Please reboot your phone periodically after until your SIM card registers on the Giffgaff network again.

If after 24 hours the SIM swap isn't completed ask a giffgaff agent to investigate. To contact an agent please follow this https://support2.giffgaff.com/app/ask/SIM-and-number/Performing-a-SIM-Swap/form/ link please be aware agents can take up 24 hrs to reply to your question.
