Hi I was just wondering why my sim is not working when it was activated previously

Hi,

 

When did you activate your SIM?  Check your 'my giffgaff' page to see if you have a number allocated to you.  If you do, your SIM is active.  If that's the case, your phone may be locked to another network, in which case, you'll need to contact the previous network or check out eBay for sellsers with codes to unlock the phone.

Hi there, if it's been less than 24 hours since the activation there is still hope it will start working eventually. If it is an old sim card which haven't been used for more then 6 months then it might be deactivated. Contact an agent to see if they can help with your number.

Hi, try restarting your phone as this sometimes helps then turn it off and on a few times see if that helps you then try

Most of the activations are processed within a few minutes but it can take up to 24 hours in some situations. Keep restarting your phone now and then.

 

You can check if your SIM has been activated by logging in to "My giffgaff". When the SIM is activated, your new giffgaff number will be displayed under your name and your credit and/or goodybag will also be shown.

 

If your SIM is not activated after 24 hours, please contact our agents so they can verify the status of your activation.

 

Don't forget to include:

 

  • Your name
  • Your giffgaff username
  • The 6 digit Activation Code
  • The 13 or 19 digit code printed on the SIM itself (right before 3Ggg/4Ggg)

Check the phone is unlocked or on the o2 network for it to work.
