Texting from Australia to UK failure

I began my holiday here by having no trouble texting home to the UK. I am on Pay as you go and was notified that I had a top up on 21 January. My last successful text was on 26 January and since then I have been able to receive texts from the UK but unable to reply to them. Every time I try to text to several different people I get the word Failure! Any ideas, please?

@whitemittens hi there - I suggest you perform a manual roam that solves common text issues. Please follow this http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/Force-the-change-of-SMS-settings/ta-p/4871794 knowledge base link on how to perform a manual roam.

I also suggest you turn your phone off for a couple of minutes and on again to see if that helps.

Hi @whitemittens you should check you haven't run out of airtime credit here https://giffgaff.com/dashboard

 

If you haven't try turning airplane mode on and then back off.

Receiving texts while in Australia is free - but ALL other usage is expensive eg. calls  are £1 per minute to make or to receive, texts are 30p each & data is 20p per MB. So double check that you have not already used all your credit.
