I joined GiffGaff a few months ago and wanted to keep my number. I went through the process of transferring my number and all seemed fine. Over the past few months when I have called or text people they have asked why I'm calling them off a random number. It transpires that sometimes I text or call people from my number (which I wanted) and other times (I am assuming) that I text or call people from the original Giff Gaff number. It seems as if my phone number was not taken over properley.

Please help!

Hello @steph58132

Are you using an iPhone perchance?

When you change SIM cards with an iPhone you'll encounter a common problem with the number not displayed correctly on calls and texts. If that happens just follow these steps and you'll be sorted

Go to Settings > Messages and turn off iMessage.

  1. Then go to Settings > FaceTime and turn off FaceTime.
  2. Now turn off your iPhone
  3. Restart your iPhone by pressing the side button (or the button on top of the iPhone if you have an 4.7in iPhone).
  4. Now go back to Settings > Messages and turn on iMessage.
  5. And go to Settings > FaceTime and turn on FaceTime

iMessage, and your number, is now set up correctly

Hope this helps

Hi there, this sounds like an imessage known issue. Simply sign out of iTunes / apple on your phone, restart and log in again. It should be fine
