Unable to use phone for texts and calls without restarting first

Over the last couple of days my phone has stopped being able to send/recieve texts or call/recieve phone calls after certain periods, without having to restart the phone, resulting in me having to restart the phone several times a day. I'm unsure whether this is a problem with the phone or with the sim - any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

Hi, if your GG settings are correct try a soft reset on your phone, make

If able to connect after restarting the phone several times. I'd suggest you to please try the SIM in another unlock phone and if facing the same problem then surely the problem is with the SIM. If using the SIM from longtime then there are possibilities of SIM being wear and tear. If you have an spare giffgaff SIM or can get from any of your family members/friends then you can perform a SIM swap by login onto your account from the following link:
http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/What-is-SIM-Swap/ta-p/7320084 it takes up to 24 hours to activate all the services after the SIM swap is done and hopefully your issue will be resolved.

Once you do a SIM swap all the account details of your previous faulty SIM will be automatically transferred on the new SIM, this includes your mobile number and all the goodybag/credit.

The SIM will take up to 3-5 working days to arrive. Once arrived then you can perform a SIM swap with the link given.

Hi, sounds like a phone problem, to check you could order another sim and then do a sim swap. If your still having problems it your phone if it sorts it then it was a faulty sim

Download the giffgaff app this should help with the correct settings, depending what phone you are using:

Check the signal strength on the phone screen. If you generally get good coverage in this area, check if there is no temorary mast issues:

Remove any accessory covers or shells from the phone temporary to check if covers affect the phones's signal strength.

 

Try changing the network connection to 3G ("Settings" > "Cellular (mobile network)" > "Highest connection speed").

 

Try reconnecting by switching "Flight mode" On and back Off ("Settings" > "Flight mode"). This resets the active connection.

 

Switch off your phone and take out the simcard. If the simcard is not properly inserted or if the simcard tray is not fully closed, the phone may get disconnected from the network.

 

Try your simcard in another phone to check if the issue is with your phone or your simcard.
