I received this text message in the early hours of this morning.

FreeMsg: Welcome! You Are A Member @ Footbox.tv For Just £4/Week. Ur first 24hrs are FREE! To cancel text stop footbox to 65101 Help? 03333135013

I've texted stop and stop footbox but the message sits at sending status.

How do I make sure I'm not being charged for this?

@mboomer
Hi, it's important that you cancel the subscription before the free 24 hour period ends

If you don't have at least 10p credit to send the Stop text
(dial *100# to check)

You should be able to unsubscribe by calling the 0333 customer service number
There'll either be an automated unsubscribe option or an option to speak to someone in person

@mboomer BBC 1 Watchdog described your experience as click jacking.

You need between 8p and 15p to send a STOP sms. Do not ignore the free message as the monthly/weekly charge is stored indefinitely.

@mboomer

Footbox.tv appears to be yet another Payforit scam. Quite a lot about it on the Vodafone forum. https://forum.vodafone.co.uk/t5/Pay-monthly/Footbox-tv/td-p/2629554.

Check that you are not blocking the sending of premium texts on your phone or at a network level. Otherwise, try calling them during working hours.

These scams were highlighted on BBC Watchdog last night, together with a demonstration to prove that clickjacking can cause these bogus "subscriptions". Despite this I fully expect GiffGaff to continue to pretend that everyone who complains of a fraudulent Payforit charge must be lying. You are on your own in dealing with Payforit scams I'm afraid!

Hi all, I just received this text message this morning, strangely it seem to have came through the moment I used my phone to touch in on the card reader at my station in London.

I certainly didn't sign up for this service and don't believe I should do anything. Fortunately, I'm on a Voxi pay as you go month to month plan, therefore my  account is never in credit with any money so surely they won't be able to take the £4 subscription cost. So I'm going to just ignore it.

@deliriousone
Hi, please don't ignore it,
Was the text exactly the same as the one the person in this thread received?

Is the 5 digit number and customer service number the same, and do you have a free 24 hour period?
