I have known the rice trick to work on an iPhone after being dropped down the toilet so you never know there may still be hope.

RateSetter are not releveant here.  They only lent the money.  The phone is yours and is not on finance. Your rights to repair are exactly the same as if you had bought it without a RateSetter loan, and in this case none.

In particular note that the loan remains, regardless of what happens to the phone.

@jada1992
HI,.
Sorry to hear of your accident.
If rice dies not work take to a Samsung Store with repair facilities and get a quote from them.
Unfortunately water damage is not covered by water damage, but the Household Insurance mentioned in another post may be worth trying, I Han Telescope and Binoculars repaired on my Home Insurance.

@jada1992

Take you S6 to the nearest Samsung repair centre. They will inspect it and if it can be repaired they will give you a price there and then, far quicker than returning it to giffgaff.

You can call Samsung Support on 0330 726 7864 to get the address of your nearest centre.

Hello there,

Recently got a Samsung S6 on contract with RATESETTER and am on GIFFGAFF sim and have dropped my phone down the toilet. My phone turns itself on and also can not see the screen. Have left it in a tin of rice in the airing cupboard and will wait for a couple of days to see what it does.. but Im thinking it wont recover from this. What do I do?

Water damage is not covered in warranty so any repair will be chargeable. You may wish to claim on home contents insurance if covered.

Please note that your loan payments to RateSetter are due and payable independently of what has happened to your phone.
All my posts are specific to you; I never copy/paste from a script.

If you need an agent, use http://giffgaff.com/support/ask and choose the relevant category. Please refrain from using the j.mp link, the SIM limit form, or "choosing 30" from the drop-down menu.

@terancedaly
HI,
At 81 years old I am grateful for my mistakes being pointed out, as I make a lot.
It enables me to correct them.
I should wish we could edit from the Mobile Site, which I use all the time.
I tend now not to correct spelling mistakes, just hope other members can understand.

Take Care my Friend.
