What is the lock symbol on my iPhone

I have a lock symbol on right hand side of my iPhone next to the battery display unable to remove this how do i get rid of it. Please help..

It means you've locked the screen orientation so double click the home button scroll the lower menu to to the left & click the padlock icon

Is your sim actually working (have you got signal)?

Its the Orientation lock - to keep your phone.ipad in portrait/landscape mode.

 

Double click the home key, swipe to the left in the running apps, and unlock it. ;-)

go on the homescreen and then double click to get onto multitasking and then slide left and click the icon at the end it prevents the screen from going landscape so it keeps it portrait
