Why will my new SIM not activate after it has taken my £10?

Help please,

I've ordered another SIM - I want another phone number for a spare phone. So, I've gone onto Opera, gone through the process, paid the £10, am told an email will be sent to me and nothing has happened. Can someone please tell me what is going on please?

SIM Activations are usually activated within 30 minutes however, can take up to 24 hours to complete.

When SIM activation complete under My giffgaff page here http://www.giffgaff.com/dashboard your new allocated number will be shown along with any airtime credit or active goodybag bundle.

Please also turn your phone off for a couple of minutes and on again to see if that helps If the SIM activation is not completed after 24 hours then i suggest you ask a agent to investigate. Log in to the new account and browse to here https://giffgaff.com/dashboard

You should see the status of the activation. When the number appears, you'll be good to go.

I want to set your answer as 'best answer' but where the instruction tells me to select the best answer icon at the bottom right of the answer - I see no icon or link to it. Can you help with this as well please?

Most sims are activated in up to 4 hours, but it can take up to 24 hours. 

Please try turning your phone off and back on every 30 mins as this sometimes helps. 

 

If not once the 24 hours are up and it has still not activated you will need to contact an agent.

giffgaff agents will do there best to get back to you within 24 hours but at busy periods it could be slightly longer.

If your request has not had a response within the 24 hours you can click this link below to ask an educator to chase it up for you.

But wherever you do don't resubmit your request to a agent as you'll go right to the back of the que!

Agent's are available from 8am till 10pm
7 days a week  but remember there's less staff on weekends so it could take a little longer for a reply.
