Hi,

Is it an OT-800? I couldn't find a QT-800.

You check the IMEI by dialling *#06*

Providers can use the IMEI of this device along with the model number and network to generate an unlock code. I assume it's locked to the former T-mobile UK? If you bought it online, please bear in mind that there are a LOT of different networks worldwide called T-mobile eg. T-mobile USA. They are not the same network.

I've not used this site personally, but you could start by looking here:

https://www.unlockbase.com/unlock-phone

Numerous other sites are suggested by the giffgaff unlockopaedia.

If your phone is locked to T-mobile UK and you bought it second hand, you can also call EE/T mobile on>**phone_number_removed** for a code. The fee is £8.99. There is also an online unlocking form, but you can only use this if you are currently a T-mobile customer and you bought the phone from them personally.

Sounds you need to get the phone unlocked try local phone shop or market stall. Good luck.

gg uses the O2 network, so a t-mobile phone will need to be unlocked first

t-mobile is now part of the ee network

the IMEI is the phones personal id and has nothing to do with being locked / unlocked. but is required for correct unlocking code

keys are not usually given out on this forum as every unlocking code is linked to the phone's IMEI number, gg have a page linking to 3rd party sites for unlocking, but your best bet would be to either take it to a local independent mobile phone shop or use an ebay seller

and as this is a public forum, posting personal info (including IMEI numbers) is not really a very good idea

Phone number for EE/T-mobile UK above is 07953- 966-250. Giffgaff removed it.

Giffgaff do provide advice yes, but they don't give you the code themselves. There is usually a small fee from sites which give you a code.

Fortunately, since it's an older model, your phone can be unlocked with a simple code. Some newer phones, eg. iPhones, cannot be unlocked with a code.
