hi could anyone help me with activating a sim , basically i put my activation code in and then it went through with the process but right at the end it said oops we are unable to complete this but it has also taken £70 out of my account wen i chose a £15 plan

Start by clearing your web browser cookies, cache and history by following the steps in this thread or you can use a alternative browser e.g. Google Chrome , Mozilla Firefox etc. 


Also check out this link if it helps. 


  1. On the home page, click Activate your SIM to begin the activation process.

  2. Enter the activation code. This is a 6 digit code which is found on the plastic card which originally held your SIM card. If you lost this code, you can use the 13 or 19 digit code printed on the SIM itself (right before 3Ggg1 or 4Ggg4).

If you have followed the steps above and still unable to activate your new giffgaff SIM please speak to a giffgaff agent to investigate.

It can take up to 24 hours for a giffgaff agent to respond (agents work 7 days a week from 8am to 11pm).

Hi there, I would contact an agent as soon as possible & they will advise you.
For any queries try:
The easiest thing is to ask an agent & you will get a private answer within 24 hours - usually 3-5 hours. If there are any problems or stop on your phone, they will be able to unlock it & give advice on what to do. You will get the answer online in your account > My Messages on your Homepage/Dashboard.
