Add the number to your phonebook, then right at the bottom of the contact card (might be under advanced) tick "send directly to voicemail".

Not an android user so not an authority on this subject but can you do it via this app: http://www.appbrain.com/app/mr-number/com.mrnumber.blocker

EDIT TO ADD: Using this technique seems easier!

GiffGaff can't block specific numbers I'm afraid so you'll have to do it on your phone. I have a HTC Desire so can't check myself, but I think its the same...

settings -> call settings -> all calls -> auto reject. Enable auto reject then click auto reject list. Here you can enter the number manually by going to the menu or you can select from contacts or call log

or if the number is stored in your phonebook then click on it in the phonebook (or press menu) then the option to block (auto divert) the number will appear

you'll have to do this manually, giffgaff as a network won't be able to do this..

You can choose to send a number directly to voicemail on Android. I think that's the best way to do it.
