I have an iPhone 4 on iOS5.  When I am on a call, I used to be able to press the power button and it would lock the handset.  This was helpful because without the lock feature my cheek hits the screen and puts the phone on mute, so the person on the other end of the phone cannot hear me.  Today I tried pressing the power button whilst on a call, because this happened, and the call ended.

Can people with an iPhone 4 please confirm that pressing the lock button during a call should not end the call but should instead lock the handset?

Does anyone have any solutions to the problem that I am having?

Thanks.

iPhone has a proximity sensor, which turns off the screen when you take it near your ear during a call, So you won't press any buttons

So, to confirm, if you are on the phone (not using a headset) - pressing the power button for you does not end the call?

The sensors built into the phone will prevent you from pressing buttons while in a call. I have a iPhone 4 and have not had any problems

Is there any way you can confirm though whether pressing the power button whilst in the call ends the call? Please?

No locking the phone does not end my call.
