Hi, I bought an iphone used and the thing is its locked to vodafone but I already have a micro sim from giffgaff and I put it in and its defiantly locked but I did google it and it said about an online request form to unlock it but because I bought it used I don't have the information needed. Thanks from ben Smiley Happy Man Wink

Need to Ring Vodafone to unlock it

Or Jailbreak Tethered and Ultrasnow it to unlock it. This will void the warranty. However, cause its used it doesn't matter

You can try the following methods in order for you phone to be unlocked:

- Call your previous network provider and ask them for the unlock code and a step by step guide on how to unlock a phone. If you were on a contract this should be free but if you were on pay as you go you may have to pay a small fee for this service.

- use Giffgaff's unlockapaedia and enter in the type and make of your model and the search will draw the main suggestions that you could do online in order for you to unlock your phone. The Giffgaff unlockapaedia gives suggested websites where you may also need to pay for the service.

- Google your type and make of your phone and something of a relevant word with it such as 'unlock' and a few websites may hive you the unlock code.

Refer to YouTube videos and they may give you a step by step guide in how to unlock your phone but this should be warned beforehand that you should do it out of your own risk.

There maybe small corner shops that specialise in technology and specifically unlocking. They can usually unlock you phone for between £10-£20 but fortunately the lower band of this price bracket. They are usually very trustworthy.

Where did you get it from?

Tried Local Phone Shop or Market?

I have posted other ideas on how to unlock above. Vodafone are going to charge you £15-£20. Try to get the proof of purchase from the person you bought it from Smiley Happy
