does it show a connection at all? you should see a G/E/3G/H if the settings are correct and it is connected correctly for data

Hey have you checked your settings are right ?

If so could try to restart your phone. Sometimes the settings will take affect after a restart.

I think you need to do this manually,

Internet:

You'll need to complete all the steps below for these settings to work.

The phone has an Optical Trackpad and two soft keys on either side of this.

The Trackpad can also be pressed to select options.

Press Menu (left soft key)
Highlight Settings and Select (press trackpad)
Highlight Network and Select (press trackpad)
Highlight Connections and Select (press trackpad)
Press Yes (left soft key) the the warning message The menu manages connection profiles. Incorrect configuration will prevent online connection. Continue?
Press Options (left soft key)
Highlight Create and Select (press trackpad)
Highlight the Set name box and enter Giffgaff - GPRS
Highlight the Home URL box and enter http://giffgaff.com/mobile
Highlight Bearer and Change (press trackpad)
Highlight GPRS and Change (press trackpad)
Highlight Proxy and Change (press trackpad) so On is highlighted
Highlight the Address box and enter 193.113.200.195
Highlight the Port box and enter 8080
Highlight the Linger time (sec) box and enter 120
Highlight DNS and Change (press trackpad) so Off is highlighted
Skip passed DNS 1 and DNS 2 as this are preset at 0.0.0.0
Highlight Access name and enter giffgaff.com
Highlight the User ID box and enter giffgaff
Highlight the Password box and enter password
Select Save then press Yes (left soft key)
Select Back, 3 times (right soft key)
Highlight Internet and Select (left soft key)
Press Options and Select (left soft key)

Highlight giffgaff - GPRS and press the trackpad to select (a dot will appear next to your chosen profile)
Select Back, 3 times (right soft key) to return to the standby screen.

Ive just got this phone today and im having the same problem. Ive entered the information manually and its still not working. Ive got full signal but the internet keeps switching from E and G (?)

E is EDGE which is 2.5g

G is prob GPRS which is 2g

E will give you a bit of usability but its not fast so no youtube etc

there is guide for this phone, i'll look

seems martinwallis above is spot on. theres lots of it so double check slowly

the other thing is are there other settings (from t-mobile or Voda etc) you can delete?

you may have to select GG settings in the browser when you connect

If you got the phone from another network, just make sure you delete their old settings and have selected the new GiffGaff ones

Thankyou for that, i filled everything in fine and it still didnt work. However, i worked out what the problem was.

Basically if you buy a phone which isnt unlocked and contracted to 02, this phone will automatically try and connect itself to it everytime. (For example even when you try and connect to giffgaff GPRS through settings - network - connections)

To fix this if you go onto the Internet Browser, select Options - Settings - Preferences, then select Internet Profiles. You'll probably find its selected to the default service provider so select giffgaff GPRS. Also go back a page and do the same with the VOD settings.

The internet should now work!!!! Hope this helps anyone having the same trouble as me.
