Hi, I replaced my faulty SIM card yesterday afternoon, and my dashboard shows my number etc, but I haven't been connected yet says 24 hours, how long do I wait before it could be a problem?

It should be no more than 24 hours

A sim swap be completed anytime with in 24 hrs after done the sim swap on account.


See when reboot mobile or turn off then back if can connect if cant still connect after 24hrs has passed.

Have you restarted your phone a few times since doing the simswap.

Hi If you got a replacement SIM it will arrive with your current number and any active goodybag or airtime credit you have when your new SIM arrives you’re advised to activate it online immediately by clicking this link ).

Contact an agent here a replacement SIM

Allow up to 24 hrs for a response. Agents work 7 days a week from 8am to 11pm.

Turn you phone off and on a few times to see if this will help your problem.

The SIM Swap can take anything from a few minutes to 24 hours to complete. However, the “norm” is around 30 minutes complete.

Please turn the device OFF/ON at 30-minute intervals until you get a signal and the SIM starts working.

If after the 24 hours your SIM swap hasn’t completed raise this with a giffgaff agent to investigate. To get in contact with a giffgaff agent please follow the link below to the agent form and fill in the text area or text box with the issue.

The giffgaff agents usually answer within 4 hours for majority of cases however, can take up to 24 hours during busy periods. The giffgaff agents work 7 days a week from 8am to 11pm.

You will receive a email when a giffgaff agent has replied and the "Messages: From Agents" box is where you can find the agent replies located half way down the right hand side of your "My Giffgaff" page or you can access it direct by following this link.

keep restarting phone occasionally, this helps sometimes
