Incomplete activation
If neither the "Congratulations, you made it" message nor the "Activation in progress" box appeared, it indicates that your activation has not been successful. Many problems are caused by browser incompatibilities and cache build up, so it is worth clearing your browser cache, restarting the browser and re-trying the activation process.

Remove your phone number, this is a public forum and anyone on the Internet can read it.

Have you set up your iPhone for data? Download the giffgaff app and use the install settings option or set these up manually. (NOTE the giffgaff APP doesn't install MMS settings, these have to be entered manually as below)

iOS 6 Goto Settings> General> Mobile Data> Mobile Data Network (scroll down to see)
iOS 7 Goto Settings> Mobile Data> Mobile Data Network (scroll down to see)
Now enter these settings
APN: giffgaff.com
USERNAME: vertigo
PASSWORD: password

MMS
APN: giffgaff.com
USERNAME: vertigo
PASSWORD: password

MMSC: http://mmsc-ac.mms.o2.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS proxy: 193.113.200.195:8080
MMS Max Message Size: 2097152
MMS UA Prof URL: [leave blank]

DON'T PRESS RESET just go back up the menu
Then pop it into airplane mode then off again and all should now be working.

Have you installed the internet settings for giffgaff yet? That is usually the first thing to try if your internet isn't working when you activate

Hi
Please remove your number asap, this is a public forum, any crook, crank or idiot can now use your information.

Go to options, then edit.

Then see here
Gg iphone settings.
If you have wifi, you can download the giffgaff app. This can set your apn settings for you, but you will need to set your mms settings manually. Or you can enter all the settings manually. See here.

IOS 7
Settings~Mobile~Mobile Data Network
Settings~Cellular~Cellular Data Network

IOS 6Settings~General~Mobile Data~Mobile Data Network
Settings~General~Cellular Data~Cellular Data Network

Then enter the settings below.

APN ... giffgaff.com
Username ... vertigo
Password ... password
Visual Voicemail (just leave as is, giffgaff do not support visual voicemail)

MMS

APN ... giffgaff.com
Username ... vertigo
Password ... password
MMSC http://mmsc-ac.mms.o2.co.uk:10021/mmsc
MMS Proxy 193.113.200.195:8080
Max message size 2097152
MMS UA Prof URL (just leave blank)
Do NOT press the " Reset Settings " button when you’ve done this.

Once the settings are in, turn your iphone off ( via the red slider ) till the screen is completely blank. Then reboot. If you do not see the apple logo, the settings will not stick.

Then, press Settings /Messages and ensure that MMS Messaging button is set to ON.

In settings messages turn imessages on.

Please also ensure that the Enable 3G button and the Mobile Data button are set to ON.

Then Settings /Phone And check My Number is correct

Go to Settings /Carrier and switch automatic On. The carrier should then show O2-UK

Also note that Picture messages cost 16p and are not included in any goodybags.

Also the mms must be kept under 300 kb in file size.

To set up imessage.

Make sure you are running the latest ios software.
Select settings
Select messages
Enable imessage
You should see a message saying activating
Scroll the page up. You will see.
Send and receive. Click on addresses.
On that page you will see your phone numbers and email addresses.
Thats it.

If your iDevice keeps resetting the data settings to something other than giffgaff, use the gg app and go to more. Install the settings from that, it will send a settings profile to your phone. That should work.

Hi, if you have only just registered then it may take time to fully activate the simcard (upto 24 hours )

Once the simcard is fully activated (seeing you mobile number on your dashboard , you will need to add the giffgaff Internet settings on your iPhone,

please can you first reset the network settings by going into

7AD7E651-9D88-49A6-A975-AF7387E94987.PNG

Settings ~ General ~ Reset ~ Reset Network Settings (once pressed the iPhone should reboot by itself )

Once restarted goto the apn settings page

Depending on your iPhone iOS version and international language ""British English"" Or ""English""

iOS 7
Settings~Mobile~Mobile Data Network
Settings~Cellular~Cellūlar Data Network

iOS 6
Settings~General~Mobile Data~Mobile Data Network
Settings~General~Cellūlar Data~Cellular Data Network

iOS 5
Settings~General~Network~Mobile Data~Mobile Data Network
Settings~General~Network~Cellular Data~Cellular Data Network

Now check your settings are the same as these ,they are latest APN Settings
for the iPhone which are slightly different to the normal ones and are the same as the iPhone app http://itunes.com/apps/giffgaff/mygiffgaff recommends / uses Which you can also use to get the Internet settings (but you'll still need the mms settings added manually )

•APN =giffgaff.com
•Usernamė =vertigo
•Password =password

MMS Settings

•APN =giffgaff.com
• Username =vertigo
•Password =password
•mmsc=http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002
•mms Prōxy = 82.132.254.1:8080
•mms Max Message Size = 2097152
•mms ua Prof URL (just leave blank)

After editing the settings just press the Home Button ,Now please reboot your iPhone

(((General info : The text to 2020 won't install the mms settings on an iPhone , but will only install the (--older unsigned-- ) Internet ones, which will have giffgaff instead of the new username of vertigo

MMS will NOT work unless 3G is ON

Lastly check that the MMS button in the Settings. (Settings~Messages) Make sure MMS Messaging is set to ON.

And remember that MMS / Picture Messages cost 16p (24p for none uk networks )and are not included in any Goodybag ( Mobile Data must be on to receive MMS messages)

you can see the settings above match the recommended ones of the giffgaff iPhone app (see snapshot)

Thank you very much for all the infos and support. I deleted my number, I did not notice that it was a public forum at first! Now I have internet. It connected by itself 10 minutes after I changed my APN.
