Bought a Nokia 3 from giffgaff in December.  Like the phone but having a problem:  do not use the internet on my phone but it is using up all the internet credit in a very short space of time.  Reluctant to up my goodybag.  Does anyone know how to turn the internet off and allow me to turn back on if I choose?

Turn off "mobile data" in your handset settings

@janetcrochet It's probably apps updating in the background using your credit. Just switch off mobile data in your settings and switch on again when you need it

@janetcrochet

Hi,

On the drop down top menu, click on "giffgaff" - where it has the signal strength icon, you can then turn off the mobile data (and on when you choose). Apps will be using the data in the background while it is on, which is where your credit is going.

Cheers!

@janetcrochet, hi there,  Apps running in the background will eat your data as apps are constantly being updated.

You can turn off mobile 📱 data in your phone settings.

Not had a Nokia for yers but try this: Open Menu --> Settings --> Connectivity --> Packet data --> choose when needed or never(or any choice that means turning off your internet). If not come back and let people know soemone will be along to help.
