When I send a text it seems to go and be received but my Android phone often says that it is waiting to be sent. It then says that I need to send it again. If I do that it will cost every time however it seems that the first text has gone and been received anyway. Often, receivers say that they have received multiple texts. I have removed and re-inserted my SIM and set my phone to manual network and it still keeps happening. I cannot guarantee that all texts have been sent otherwise I will need to call the recipient every time which rather destroys the purpose of texting! How can I stop this happening? I have a Motorola phone.

Hi @old_fart50 and changing your notifications settings usually cures this problem.

@old_fart50, hi there,  try doing a Manual Roam that will reset your phone to the network again can help in most cases.

I have done what you said and it still sends duplicate texts.  However, it seems to have stopped saying that it has not been sent, please send again.  So, better but I am still sending two texts.  Any further ideas?

@old_fart50 - I'd just endorse the advice given by @bertiebat and the link is full of good tips too.  Apart from turning off balance notifications in your Giffgaff account, sending texts over 2g only (turn 3 and 4g off on your phone) I find makes them work more efficiently.  Good luck !

I have deleted the receipt and it now appears to be working fine. Many thanks.
