Hi @sian221994

Check she has the correct data settings. She will need to set-up your handset with APN settings before she can use the internet or MMS with the giffgaff network.

As you haven't stated the mobile device she has , please follow the link below to find settings for the most popular handsets including iOS(iPhone, iPad), Android(LG, Samsung, HTC), Nokia Lumia(Windows) etc.

If you find the data settings are fine Please check the signal in your area, simply follow this link https://giffgaff.com/coverage-and-service to check either the network status or coverage. The network status should give you details of any local issues, including planned work, as well as showing signal strength (2G, 3G & 4G) & outages.

Please remember that the website is updated hourly and may not display any issues at the current moment.

If the signal looks all good, you also try performing a manual roam by following this http://community.giffgaff.com/t5/Using-giffgaff/Force-the-change-of-SMS-settings/ta-p/4871794 guide that allows you to select the network manually.

Please try reconnecting by switching "Flight mode" On and back Off ("Settings" > "Flight mode"). This resets the active connection.

If you’re still having problems, then you can try turning your device off for a couple of minutes and on again to see if that helps.

It's best if you contact an Agent and they should not only be able fix the problem but also if required do a refund,

They usually reply within 24 hours but don't be tempted to ask twice in a 24 hour period or the system may kick the request back.

 

Whilst you wait,

 

Make sure the Phone's Data connection IS enabled and if the phone has a,"Do Not Disturb" option that this is NOT enabled.

 

Then,

 

You might need to refresh your Phone's Settings/Network/APN settings.Try these simplfied ones.

Connection Name: giffgaff

APN - Access Point Name: giffgaff.com
Login - Username: "giffgaff" for all devices or "vertigo" for iPhones and iPads


Password: the password is "password"

Proxy: leave blank

MMSC: http://mmsc.mediamessaging.co.uk:8002

MMS proxy: 82.132.254.1

MMS port: 8080
MCC: 234
MNC: 10

 

But don't forget to save them and then reboot the phone.

Did that thanks but not showing on her usage but saying I’ve got 20 quid but it’s not showing up
