Hi all , just wondering how long it takes for a sim swap to become active so I can start using my phone again ?

My original sim was brought for a backup phone as I go to a lot of areas with limited coverage and always needed a phone in case of emergencies . never used it and cancelled the goody bag updates .

2 years on I have broken my phone and forgotton all the details of my backup so installed a sim that was in package (for a friend) and activated the new card .

3 hours in and I am still waiting for all of this to happen . I have had a friend try and phone my old GG number and my phone rings out , but nothing seems to happen with the phone number on new sim .

Any ideas or help please ?

Thanks

@shane_lewis

GIve it 24 hours and see if it works. Keep restarting the phone periodically!

If this is the same account for the old number where you did the swap now, it may not work, its 70-30% chances!

If it doesn't work, getting the same number may not be possible, however you can always create a new account and activate a new SIM/new number on it.

gg sims are automatically deactivated after 6 months non use and the phone number is removed from your account and is recycled, have you tried to do a sim swap on your old account?

I think so yes as this was the only sim that ever went into this phone

Wait a bit longer and if your old sim still works speak to a super recruiter
