Why can't I top up using a voucher? This is my first time and I'm finding it really difficult

You may encounter some errors, and here are some solutions to get around them


Causes

When you submit the voucher code, the error message "Invalid voucher code" is displayed

Voucher considered as already usedWhen you submit the voucher code, the error message "Sorry, that voucher code has already been used" is displayed

Try these solutions in this order to get the best result.

 

1 - Verify you are using the correct code

  • Verify the voucher code is 16 digits long
  • Verify you are using the code as shown on this picture
  • Try alternatives if needed (e.g. 0 for O)

2 - Clear your browser's cache and cookies and try again.

 

3- If the voucher code is still considered invalid, check the service update thread to verify if there is a technical issue.

 

4 - If your code is correct and there is not technical issue reported, send your voucher code to the agents for verification.

 

Voucher considered as already used

Please wait for a few hours and retry. During your wait, the payment system will have identified your previous attempt failed and will accept the voucher code.

 

If it is rejected again, make sure you did not used one of your previous voucher by mistake.

From your mobile
Call 43430 for free with your giffgaff phone and follow the voice prompts along the way.

Online
Log in and head to Top-up
Scroll down until you find "Top-up features".
Click on use it online to load the top-up by voucher page
Enter your voucher's 16 digits code in the field - if the code is rejected, see here how to solve it.
Click on "Redeem".
Please note that top-up vouchers can take up to24 hours to be applied to your account balance.

Are you trying to top up before activating the SIM ?

The first top up must be made online in a separate activation procedure. If you are using a voucher, you can only activate the SIM with airtime credit.

After activation, you might want a goodybag.

A voucher tops up credit only, and the goodybag must be bought online from the credit.

This is the procedure for activating with a voucher

You can activate with a voucher, but you can't buy a goodybag during activation,
You need to add the credit first and then convert the credit into a goodybag

Log in here
Http://j.mp/activate_sim

Put the 6 digit activation code in
And click continue

Where it says " if you have a top up voucher" click
Select ( desktop browser) or
Airtime credit ( mobile browser)

The next page will have your personal information details
Change or edit if necessary
( put your date of birth in)
And click continue

On the next page, put your 16 digit top up voucher code in the box provided and click " redeem"

Your account will then begin to activate, if you check here

It'll say "activation in progress"
When that message disappears (usually within 30 minutes) and is replaced with your credit, you can then convert it into a goodybag/gigabag

If the voucher is from o2 then you need to be aware that these are not native GG vouchers and as such takes a while for them to show on the system

What's the issues you are having?
Log onto your giffgaff account, and then click on topup and then redeem voucher. You then enter the 12 digit code n redeem it. Hopefully it shoukd work. If you still are experiencing issues, then its best to contact an agent.
