Hi I've been on O2 and used the Tu go app to get calls and texst when no service in the house and connected to wifi.

Is there anything like this I can use on GG please?

Thank you for any replies.

No, giffgaff are still relatively small so don't have those sort of setups I'm afraid.

@sjclarke30

An app like Tu Go has been and is the subject of numerous ideas but giffgaff seem reluctant to divert the resources that would be needed to develop it.

The following is their response to the original idea:

Status: Under Consideration

19th May 2015 - Good Afternoon folks, this idea is currently on the backburner. It's something we love the concept of, but with how saturated the market is with Whatsapp Calls, Skype, Viber and others, we can't see the argument for supporting the resources it would take to create and maintain this feature. We'd need a strong case that people would use giffgaff's feature over the popular apps like Skype, Facetime and Whatsapp.

@boblog Giffgaff was created by and is 100% owned by Telefonica one of the world largest telcos and also owner of the O2 brand. Telefonica also own the TuGo product but probably want to limit this type of feature to its premium brands not its budget brands like giffgaff.
