Hi,

I was wondering why my Blackberry Bold 9000 still won't work despite of doing all of the things mentioned above. Opera, bolt won't connect, my phone still asks for wifi service Smiley Sad

Thanks

There is the possibility or a data bar on your account, to get it removed contact the agents: http://bit.ly/giffgaffagent - this automatically happens with a few new activations!

For a giffgaff sim with £5 FREE CREDIT when you activate, click here

Make sure you  assigned Browser in Options > Advanced Options > Browser to use Browser

Then pull battery on handset while still connected, wait three seconds and reinsert battery. Wait for phone to fully start then:

Go to Options > Advanced Options > Service Book and while holding down ALT press S B E B

Try connecting to Internet and report back here.

Many thanks to those that have taken the time and effort to work out all these workarounds. Just a few hours after activating GG sim and I've got a 95% fully functional bb. Does anyone have a recommendation for a good skype alternative? (one that'll let me call skype contacts). Tried iskoot but it's refusing to connect. It's the last app that I'd like to be able to use.

When will Giffgaff be compitable to the internet on the blackberry??

because these alternatives are confusing and it wuld be much more simple if Giffgaff had a internet service for it

The description is clear thank you, but I still cant get it connected.

TCP is modified & then after installation of opera using the desktop tool it runs through to complete installation & eventually comes back with 'cannot connect to the internet'.

the phone is locked to O2, but apparently this should be ok.

any ideas ?

Agreed. I'm really wanting to get a Blackberry and would love to know when GiffGaff plan to support it.

Which Blackberry do you have and what version of the OS has it got?  (the Desktop tells you this on the main screen).  Also how much free memory does it have?  It tells you that at the bottom of the Applications screen.
