Great. Our goodybag minutes, data and texts also work in the EU and selected destinations. When visiting any of the countries listed above, using your phone to call and text UK landline and mobile numbers will deduct from your allowances like it does at home. In addition, your goodybag will also include calls and texts to landline and mobile numbers in all of the EU countries listed above.
Your goodybag allowances will also work in the EU and selected destinations. After you’ve used 20GB of your Always On data, you’ll be charged 0.47p (£0.0047) per MB while roaming and your speeds will be reduced to 384kbps between 8 AM and midnight. However, you will continue to have full speed access between Midnight and 8 AM.
Without a goodybag, our standard UK pay as you go rates also apply in the EU and selected countries. That is, if you are visiting one of the countries listed above, and call a landline or mobile number in the UK or call a landline or mobile number in one of the countries listed above, calls will be charged at 15p/min. Likewise, in the same circumstances, texts will be charged at 5p/ text. As for data, you will be charged 5p/MB.
Calls and texts to other places outside of the EU and selected destinations cost £1/min and 30p/text.
goodybags with inclusive roaming are intended for giffgaff members who typically reside in the UK, but may take trips to other EU destinations from time to time. We have some fair usage guidelines to protect this and other misuse of the service. See our fair usage guidelines.
Check your roaming status and scroll down to Phone and call service settings. If your inclusive roaming is not available, then using your phone in the EU and selected destinations will be charged at 3.2p/min to make calls, 1p/text and 0.47p (£0.0047) per MB in addition to the cost of your goodybag. If you do not have a goodybag, you will be charged the standard PAYG rates. See our pricing page.
When travelling, you might get close to a national border with a non-EU /ROW countries. Your phone might pick up a network from across the border. If this happens, you’ll be charged from your credit, as if you were roaming in the nearby country or territory. To avoid this, you can set your mobile to manually roam to specific network within the country you are in to avoid the charges.
