Hi @adrianbetts,

The quickest way of getting a SIM card is to pop down to your nearest supermarket, mobile phone repair shop, newsagents, or any other shop/place that sells SIM cards, and pick up a Giffgaff SIM for £1 or so.

You could alternatively order a SIM from your order page at https://giffgaff.com/orders/mgm - note that this will take a couple of days to arrive via the post.

Once you have your new SIM card, you will need to perform a "SIM Swap". To do this, make sure that you are logged into the correct account, then go to your dashboard at https://giffgaff.com/profile/details and scroll down until you get to the option marked "replace my SIM".
By clicking the drop down button at "replace my SIM" it will give you all of the information that you need to guide you through the SIM Swap process.

A couple of things to bear in mind:
1) SIM Swaps cannot take place between the hours of 9.30pm and 4.30am
2) Any contacts stored on the SIM card will not be transferred, and will be lost if not backed up - please make sure that all of your contacts are backed up to either your phone or a cloud account.

Regards, TITA

Hi, my parents are arriving at Heathrow Airport on the 10th, and they are currently overseas, so they won't be able to order a simcard online. May I know how can I get them a Giffgaff simcard, and how should they go with activating the simcard? Thanks!

Hi @min_hui Pop into your local Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Poundland etc to get one. Most supermarkets now stock giffgaff sims for a pound.

You can find and buy giffgaff SIMs for a small charge in Tesco, ASDA ans local shops around the country.

I can also post SIMs to you first class tomorrow (with a £5 credit each when activating them), so you will receive them on Monday.  Just reply to the personal message (PM) I sent you with your name and address.

@karandevlin

Assuming the SIM you have at present isn't one of the 3-in-1 variants which boasts all the sizes you'll need, then the quickest method would be to head along to a local supermarket or convenience store (or any shop for that matter that sells SIM cards). Most of which (should) carry giffgaff SIMs for around a pound.

Another option would be to let us know where you are, first part of your postcode will be plenty (don't post your full address!) as there may be a member close to you who can get you sorted out with one.

Finally, the 'slower' method would be to order one from your orders page, found here: https://giffgaff.com/orders/mgm

Once you have your new SIM, follow the below article on how to perform what is known as a SIM Swap. This will move over your existing number along with any goodybags and credit you may have at present:

@carol1967g

If it's for a sim swap Caroline you'd be quicker picking one up for a pound at Tescos or something, it saves you waiting on one being delivered
