A while back I changed from a iphone 4s to a Samsung Galaxy 5. I tried using the existing sim card but unfortunately it has recently started displaying the mssage no sim card emergency calls only. I suspect because the sim is just that bit too small and is moving around inside the phone because it is too small. Is it possible to send a replacement sim? Am I able to keep the same phone number?

You don't need a new SIM card. Just get any other SIM card push it out and use it's housing for your existing SIM card. Alternatively go to any phone shop and ask them for help.

You diagnosis is right @martyn4280 That it the sim is failing/has failed.

You just need need to do a sim swap.

First get a sim. If you need one urgently Tesco’s, Sainsbury’s and most supermarkets now stock giffgaff sims for a pound

Or simply order a new 3-in-1 'trio' sim (Mini/Micro/Nano all in one) which are 4g/3G/2G compatible.

Order a sim here

and when it arrives,

Use sim swap to swap your current account and credits/balance in it to new sim.

NB: Please make sure you are logged into account you want to do the sim swap on. Very important.

PS- Please backup all your contacts or write them down before proceeding with sim swap as your contacts won't transfer as part of the swap

@martyn4280,

Yes, you certainly can keep your phone number, you need a "SIM Swap".
The easiest way of getting a new Sim card is to pop to a local shop, any shop that sells SIMs should stock Giffgaff SIMs. Should be for £1 or so.
Once you have your new Sim card, head to your dashboard at https://giffgaff.com/profile/details and scroll to "replace my SIM". It will take you through the process there.
Note that contacts will not be transferred, any contacts on the SIM will need to be backed up.
Also note that this does not apply if you have had your SIM deactivated due to non use (SIMs must be used at least once every 6 months).
Regards TITA

Hi

Does anyone in central London have a spare SIM please? Mine has suddenly stopped working!

Thanks in advance.

@shing91

You may get a couple of members jump in who are in/around/pass through Central (myself included, though sadly I'm not about until tomorrow afternoon), though failing anyone doing so, you should come up trumps dropping into a local supermarket, convenience store, or anywhere which carries SIM cards.

Most now stock giffgaff ones for around a quid, so you should hopefully manage to get your paws on one this evening if no one steps in.
