Hi, I need a new smaller SIM for my new Galaxy A3. My previous phone is a Galaxy S2.

Hi @jthelermpont,

Firstly, I didn't think there were that many people still using a Galaxy S2 - it must be a good 5 or 6 years old now, if not more?

Regarding a new SIM card, the quickest and easiest way of doing this is to go to a local convenience store, supermarket, mobile repair outlet or similar, and they should stock SIMs for about £1 or so.

Once you have a new SIM then go to your dashboard at and scroll to "replace my SIM". It will take you through the process (please note that contacts stored on the SIM will need to be backed up as they are not transferred).

Alternatively, you can order a SIM through the post at but this will take a couple of days or so to arrive (again, when you receive it, you'll need to go through the above for a SIM swap).

Hope that helps Smiley Happy

@jthelermont Chances are you are using a 3G sim, in the S2.

Upgrading to 4G by doing a sim swap, is the way to go. Tesco and most supermarkets stock giffgaff sims and you can commence sim swap, at:-

Your number and account transfer over.

You mean MGM right? as in as your link gives an error.

That method will certainly work, though will take a few days. Quickest method is to get to a local shop (such as a newsagents, convenience store, supermarket etc).

Hopefully @jthelermont has managed to get their new SIM up and running Smiley Happy (let me know if you need any more help Smiley Happy)

In need of a SIM Swansea area, mine seems to have suddenly stopped working and all options lead to a sim issue. Cheers in advance!

If no one local steps in with a spare one, you can pick up giffgaff SIM cards now at most outlets which carry SIMs - say major supermarkets, convenience stores, etc and so forth for around £1.

This thread is not to be used in order to advertise services only to respond to those members who request SIMs

Thread update 4/10/16

if you have reported your sim lost and are waiting on the replacement from giffgaff , please refrain from asking a member for a sim as.

1: You will not be able to use another sim  once you have reported it as lost , you will need to wait for it to arrive.

Raise with our agents using this

if not recieved within 3 days

I have seen a few members asking for sim's on here and the giffgaff members are allways happy to try and help out if they can .

A little tip to members asking for a sim to be dropped off or posted first class to you.

Members should only post the first part of their post code publicly and the rest can be done privately via PM

Dont whatever you do post you're personal details on the forums pages it dangerous

please check your pm box as members will possibly contact you via pm

Also check your email notification settings and check your PMs regularly after posting.

So you can respond to offers.

To the poster who requires a sim  please post on this thread when you are fixed up

and it would be nice if when people ask for help, they then acknowledge receipt of that help, so the other members do not duplicate a response.

 ** Ammendment **

If your posting I've pm'd you to a poster in need of a sim card

Please also state if your offering to post or your a local member prepared to meet up or drop off .

Thanks for all the great help everyone
