We have our FIRST entry! My husband, @serving_n_a_j has spent the afternoon typing, and has finally posted it!

On our second ‘seniversary’ (married two weeks) we went to see The King and I theatre production at High Wycombe Town Hall … we were besotted with each other … still happily married 43 years later! _{_🤡}

After a period of rest, we finally have our CREATIVE CORNER subTAG of General Discussion in which to post our creative threads ‘Run By You’ which used to be ‘stickied’ on Lithium. We are starting the CWC for March/April with a topic of 🎊 ANNIVERSARIES 🎊, followed by a May topic of FRIENDSHIP, changing topics each month apart from the first month, which is extended because it is so late in March to begin.

jesi23 - Thanks so much for your reply. Am delighted you have your first entry for this thread and from your husband. Will head over and read it, probably tomorrow. Between the problems of trying to book a home delivery (an activity I turned into what seemed like a full-time job with overtime but was eventually successful - due on Wednesday), involved in booking a supermarket delivery for my 95 year-old mother-in-law and the sudden death of a friend, have not been online much recently but hope to rectify that this week. Thanks again for keeping me updated - I'll be in touch again soon.

polowoman - @serving_n_a_j I have just read your entry and found it very thought-provoking, as I recalled anniversaries which mean much to me. Many events which you have celebrated are mirrored in our lives, and your happy recollections have made me smile, while remembering again, with much sadness, some of the tragedies which shocked the world. Now life here has seems to have calmed down a little, I hope to write a short piece on this topic to add to yours, and (I hope) those of other writers. ✍️

polowoman Thank you for your encouraging comment. If only you knew how I had to rack my memory to write the article...! And of course I left something out that I meant to include - the times jesi23 and I went to the cinema for such an anniversary celebration (or otherwise) and came away so enthralled by the film that we immediately went back to see it again, even when we were driving away from the venue. It's happened at least twice (we don't go to the cinema very often)! I wonder if anyone else has done the same thing? Surely we can't be unique!

polowoman I've just read your post on Anniversaries. Surely a remarkable piece of writing, in which I totally forgot about your first sentence and felt I had actually experienced your enjoyment of the outing to the seaside and 'Adventure City' So real too - a rainy summer day's outing which started well but where you had to look for other entertainment to make what could have been a disappointing occasion memorable. Lovely!

frenchielove - Thank you for your kind words and glad you enjoyed my piece of surrealism - or was it?! I haven't yet written the other two but hope to fit those inaround my other writing projects so will let you know when they are ready. However, am wondering if I have been over-ambitious with the idea of travelling back to meet people from previous centuries. Will have to give it more thought and see what I can come up with for a surreal-plausible story. Leave it with me!! Am now about to send you a post about your excellent piece. 😀

frenchielove - Me again and it's just like old times for us on the CWC so good to be in touch with you again. Just wanted to say that while reading your entry I could detect the very personal touch you had given it. Recalling your Mum, with much sadness on your anniversary, and branching out further to consider the all-pervading Covid-19, and how people are helping each other in so many ways, gave it a wide understanding. Anniversaries can be private or public celebrations but whichever applies, they are much-marked occasions across the world.

serving_n_a_j - Why not add the recollection you omitted? I don't think it will be too late to do so. It did happen once or twice when I hosted the CWC and there was no objection, as long as the author checked so you could ask Jes and then maybe include your extra paragraph. Great that you enjoyed a film so much you went back to see it again. Do you have any particular favourites from those days if so maybe you could mention it in your hoped-for addition to your article. Good luck with your writing - I hope you will continue with this, if only for the CWC.

serving_n_a_j - Thank you so much for your very positive comments on my rather bizarre piece. As you may know, I am a compulsive scribe and belonging to a local writers' group for nearly 20 years, have written reams of stories based on the themes we choose at each meeting, and every so often I like to delve into the slightly surreal as there is more scope for a tale, though I always keep it within a realistic setting. I decided to use that approach with this and as ever, once I have a first sentence and vague idea of a story, I start to write and then the characters and their adventures unfold as I write. No guarantee the finished product is worth reading, but it gives me pleasure and takes me away from the troubles of life and into a non-existent world where the unlikely can happen.
